For the Spring 2020 semester, we plan to design and build the ideal portable mounting ramp for people with unique needs to enhance their life by engaging in enjoyable activities such as riding horses. Most of the design is already completed, but we just need to modify it so that it explicitly meets the requirements of our project partner and can be finished by the end of the spring semester. We plan to add hinges that are going to be screwed in, so that if it breaks, it can be restored in an efficient manner. In addition, we plan to add railings on the sides of the mounting ramp to ensure complete safety of the individuals using the ramp as well as locks and handles. A lot of the previous design meets the requirements, so we are just changing these things. However, we cannot finish building the portable mounting ramp as a whole by the end of the semester because of a lack of time and the extensive amount of work needed to create the product. Right now, we are focusing on designing and constructing the accessories of the mounting ramp, rather than the ramp as a whole due to a lack of time. For this project, we have to take all precautions to ensure the most effective product to carry out its purpose of aiding those in need.
