Our team met at the Richardson Animal Shelter to take dimensions and images of the room that the cat stand would reside in.
New information regarding the previous broken cat stand emerged; the joints of the cat stand were not secure enough to remain stable and eventually broke during the summer.
The animal shelter wanted the kittens to be facing the window on the back wall so that people could view the kittens playing on the cat stand. Our measurements included:
- The width of the back wall from corner to corner
- The height of the back wall
- The height of the window, from floor to the base of the window
- The door (if necessary)
We also took images of the chemicals used to clean and disinfect surfaces that come in contact with felines; with further research we determined that our theoretical materials would all be resistant to the cleaning solution.
