Research Direction and Initial Planning
Hello Everyone,
Elementary Science teachers of Richardson ISD has requested we develop a simple and “plug and play” demonstration to teach elementary school children how sunlight is converted into energy and electricity.
A major project focus is on satisfying the teachers’ needs for the demonstration to be portable, easily assembled, and disassembled.
Our project goals include having the demonstration be straightforward enough for elementary students to grasp the idea of solar technology, but also hands-on and interesting enough to keep the students engaged and excited.
2 Phases of the Project
- A demonstration of solar energy for the teachers to use for their classroom.
- Fall 2020 Semester
- Hands-on individual solar panel kits designed for students to build using safe materials.
- Spring 2021 Semester
