Professional Development
- September 20: Say what? Understanding Speech on Campus, with Dan Goodwin, director of the Student Union and Student Life Programs. Have you ever walked through campus and witnessed large groups of people together seemingly engaged in heated dialogue or with large signs marching around, and wondered to yourself, “Is that even allowed?” In this workshop, Dan will cover Texas Senate Bill 18 from 2019, which significantly changed the way public institutions, including UTD, handle speech and expression. Dan will also look at national trends in campus protests and activism, 10-11:30 a.m., SSA 12.471.
