Awards and Acknowledgments

  • Congratulations to Pam McElrath, associate director of Residential Life, for completing three years of Region 2 leadership with the Association of Collegiate Conference and Event Directors International (ACCED-I). Pam also was appointed to the board of directors for ACCED-I, whose mission is to promote and advance the collegiate conference and events profession and to set the industry standards of excellence.

Vice President

  • April 8: Student Affairs offices will be permitted to close during the eclipse. More details and an office door sign template will be provided soon.

Senior Associate Vice President

Professional Development

  • LAST CHANCE! Short for “Staff That Are Remarkable,” the STAR Award is given annually to honor the outstanding performance of professionals within Student Affairs, including for leadership; advising and supporting students; assessment, evaluation and research; and service to staff, a department or the division. As many as five staff will be honored with the award at the annual Student Affairs Awards Ceremony in May. Recipients will receive a framed certificate and a $500 cash award. Nominate for the STAR Award by 5 p.m. on March 31.
  • Intercultural Competencies, a 3-part series, is set for April 5, April 19 and May 3, 10-11:30 a.m., SSA 12.471; registration is required. Presented in partnership with Intercultural Programs, this training focuses on reflecting and understanding the basics of interculturalism and how culture impacts interpersonal communication, professional relationships and the services we provide to our student population. Participants must attend all three sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
