Friends of MLK: Reading Huddle

The Friends of MLK organization provides educational and community development services to historically underserved communities. Reading Huddle is a literacy tool that uses sports figures, educators, and community leaders as reading “coaches” to model effective story time techniques.

Our Project

The Friends of MLK organization has contacted us for help with building a signup/login web UI for their Reading Huddle website. Our focus is on constructing and deploying a robust database that efficiently stores user information, creating an intuitive sign-in and registration web UI to replace the existing Google form, integrating a reliable authorization system, and establishing user roles with specific permissions to allow different interactions based on the user.

Semester Goals

Our goals this semester include creating a functional Web UI through which users can sign up and sign in to a Reading Huddle account. We also plan to maintain a database with the users’ information as requested by the project sponsor.
