March to the Polls

March to the polls (MTTP) is a non-profit organization that focuses on helping underrepresented citizens register to vote. Camila Correa Bourdeau, the executive director of MTTP, along with her team and network of volunteers, focus on raising voter turnout in communities in DFW with low socioeconomic status. It has been a pleasure working with Camila and we look forward to ultimately help with the cause that MTTP stands for.

Project

Camila Correa Bourdeau and MTTP have asked for help developing a web app that can house various amounts of information. At the moment, MTTP and their volunteers use dozens of spreadsheets to store all the information needed, including the schools and districts they have visited, the amount of students they presented to, the amount of students helped register and their contact information. The main objective of the project is to create a database that would be able to store all this information in one place, making accessible for MTTP administrators and to their volunteers. This will come with a log in feature, which will allow only people with the necessary credentials to access student information and insights. In addition, the web app will also require a volunteer log page, in which a list of volunteers and the information regarding their contributions will be included. Some other requirements include a map that shows the physical locations of the schools and districts visited, a search tool, a tool to retrieve database information into a spreadsheet, and a handful of other small tasks that will help MTTP search and store data more efficiently and accurately.
