About

Mina Forouzandeh

Born in the historic city of Isfahan, Iran, my artistic journey began with a passion for painting, fueled by the rich cultural tapestry of my homeland. Upon immigrating to the United States, my creative pursuits evolved as I delved into sculpture, honing my skills at the University of Texas at Dallas. Immersed in the dynamic American art scene, I embraced formal education to deepen my understanding of art and its intersection with society. From a childhood dream to a reality, being an artist has been my lifelong love. Today, my work is a fusion of Persian influences, a testament to my diverse experiences. Join me on a visual exploration that transcends borders, weaving together the threads of my Iranian heritage.

Capstone Project

Seven Shades of Strength

Crafting a Feminist Narrative Inspired by Persian Mythology and Art This capstone project merges the ancient tales of Persian mythology with contemporary feminist discourse, re imagining the epic journey of Rostam through a seven-panel sculpture and painting. Each panel reflects Iranian women's enduring struggles and aspirations, challenging traditional narratives and spotlighting their timeless strength. Contextualized within historical and modern feminist movements in Iran, the project explores the evolving role of women, weaving a narrative that mirrors the complexities of feminism in Iranian culture. The second part delves into the meticulous process of creating a narrative artwork inspired by Persepolis's Persian art, blending traditional techniques with contemporary storytelling. Seven Shades of Strength is a vibrant testament to the resilience of Iranian women, offering a nuanced exploration of their cultural tapestry.
