Artist Statement
My work of art combines motion graphics, product design, brand design, and photography. I have gone through the process of creating a new brand from scratch and crafted the visual identity. I designed all the important design elements such as the logo, colors, typography, and illustrations for my brand that is called Sobiscuits. I wanted to create a brand for a bakery that embodies a cute and warm feeling for potential customers.
I was heavily inspired by the packaging for desserts in Japan, South Korea, and Mexico. I visit bakeries often where the packaging design is adorable and visually appealing. Designs for food should be eye catching and tempting so the customer will be more inclined to purchase the product. I was also influenced by Sara and Misc, (@sara.and.misc) on instagram, who is a freelance designer that specializes in brand design, packaging design, illustration, and animation. Her use of colors help make her designs pop and add personality to her ideas. I utilized procreate to create illustrations, adobe bridge to edit the photos, and after effects for animating the logo. I tend to find great comfort in desserts and I wanted to achieve the ideal design for my bakery that is charming and comforting.
